(04/12/11) The Keech Kup event was held at Beech Hill Conservative Club on 3rd December. The event was orgainsed by John and Alan in memory of Mark Sheppard. It was a fantastic turn out with lots of events and activites during the day. The proceeds were all towards Keech Hospice Care. Jawad Ali won the 1-frame knockout competition, beating Adrian Kerr in the final. Well done to both players. More details will appear soon.

(28/11/11) The John Stevens High Breaks was played on Sunday 27th November. The winner was Dan Cuthbert, who beat Aaron Garwood in the final 3-2. Click here for details of who had breaks over 30 during the day.

(11/11/11) Beech Hill Conservative Club have arranged a knockout snooker competition on 3rd December. Everyone is welcome and as well as the snooker there will be lots of other things happening on the day. This event is being done to raise funds for Keech Hospice Care following the sad news that Mark Sheppard has passed away, as reported in August this year. Mark was a long standing member of the Beech Hill Conservative club and this event will hopefully help Keech in continuing to provide the care for cancer patients. (06/11/11) Please note the John Stevens High Breaks competition will now be played on Sunday 27th November. Also, the minutes of every committee meeting will now be available online. (27/10/11) The draw details for the John Stevens High Breaks has been completed and is available by clicking here. This is a one day competition that is open to any player that has compiled a 30 or more break in the 2010/11 season. If you have not entered and would like to compete, please contact Gary Connelly prior to the 20th November to discuss your entry.

(27/10/11) The Team Cup final, delayed from last season, was played at Dunstable Snooker Club on 26th October. The finalists were Riley Park St. B and Leighton G. (25/09/11) It is with great regret the league would like to notify all members of the passing away of John Stevens. John was a long serving member of the committee until a short while ago and only stepped down due to ill health. He was also an active member of the league, having played for many years, and currently playing with Beech Hill H. Syed Ali, our chairman, made special mention to John's contribution to the league at last year's AGM and also in his notes in this year's handbook. Our thoughts and condolences go to John's family from the committee and players. He will be greatly missed by everyone in the league.

(23/08/11) It is will regret the league announce that Mark Sheppard has died of cancer. Mark was a long standing league player with Beech Hill G, and he will be greatly missed and all. The South Beds Snooker League would like to extend its deepest condolences to Mark's family.

(08/07/11) Important notice to all league players. Could all members of the league please be aware of what was agreed at this years AGM. The notice below has also been sent out to all clubs to be posted on their noticeboards.

To All League Players

At the recent AGM at Lansdowne Club, a proposal was made for an alternation to the constitiution. This proposal was made by Syed Ali and seconded by Mo Farooq. The proposal was that in future all proposed rule changes should be forwarded in writing to the committee, who will then make a decision to accept or reject at their meetings. Any league player is welcome to attend any such meeting, providing they request this in advance. However, the decision will be made on by the committee. If accepted the rule change will be entered in the next handbook issued. The above proposal by Syed Ali was accepted by more than the required two-thirds majority, and is therefore now in force.

The minutes of all committee meetings will in future be shown on the website, and any proposed rule changes will be quoted on these, in order to give any league player the opportunity to attend the next meeting.
