High Breaks Competition
This competition is open to all league members who made a 30+ break in the 2008/9 season. If your break was either in a league match or in competition, you qualify to play in this year's competition.
This year the High Breaks one-day competition was played on Sunday 29th November 2009. The venue was the Leighton Snooker Club, Dudley Street, Leighton Buzzard.
There were 16 entrants and the first round saw a number of breaks, notably a 72 from Adrian Kerr which proved to be the highest break of the day. After closely contested frames, the Semi finalists were Syed Ali vs Arron Garwood and Jon Shaw vs Barry Garwood. Syed won 3 - 1 and Jon won by the same result .
The final went the distance and Jon managed to hold his nerve and took the honours 3 - 2 in a keenly contested match. Well done to both players. A big thank you to Martin Scott of Leighton Snooker Club for his hospitality and hosting the event.
